To make 6 to 8 Vegan Burger Patties use 2 cups of TVP and 15 oz of black bean previously mashed. Mix up altogether and add 1 cup of hot water. You can add some salt, pepper or other spice if you’d like to. Stir well again. Then, form the burger patties and cook them in a pan with some vegetal butter on medium heat for about 7 minutes on each side.
Then you can make your burgers with your favorite ingredients. I personally like it with tomatoes, salad, ketchup, and grilled cheese. To make my grilled cheese I placed a handful of shredded vegan cheese in a pan on low to medium fire for 3 minutes on each side.
Here are some nutritional facts about the black beans and the TVP:
- For 100 g of black beans, you get 21 g of protein
- For 100 g of TVP, you get 53g of protein
So for one burger patty, you get about 12g of protein
What is “TVP”?
