Diet is not a criteria for salvation, but it is still important! Eating healthy and eating with temperance helps us learn, understand and remember the truth. Therefore, it helps in doing the will of God. Of course, eating healthy is a good way to stay on the track of salvation. But doing other things that are contrary to what the Bible says about salvation, will not make us be saved. It is mentioned nowhere in the Bible that eating healthy is a criterion for salvation.
Bible Verses about Salvation
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God” – Ephesians 2:8
“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” – John 3:5
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16
We are Saved by Grace through Faith
We are saved by grace through faith. Meaning, when we come to God He accepts us immediately, despite our evil doings. God is love and He doesn’t condemn us for all the wrong we have done. He invites us to come to him and repent so that he can forgive us.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9
So we know that we are saved by grace through faith. The Bible also says, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” – James 2:26
God gives us a strong desire to change our lifestyle and to allow Him to work through us when we truly have faith.
