As you will see below, the Bible tells us that herbs were given for food to Adam and Eve after they sinned and that it is for our service. I believe that because God knew that sin will bring sickness upon mankind and he added herbs (includes vegetables) to our diet, as a superfood. Here are 12 bible verses about herbs.
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which [is] upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which [is] the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. – Genesis 1:29
He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; – Psalms 104:14-15
Better [is] a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith. – Proverbs 15:17
And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein [there is] life, [I have given] every green herb for meat: and it was so. – Genesis 1:30
The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, [and] eat it with unleavened bread and bitter [herbs] – Numbers 9:11
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. – Psalms 51:7
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, [was there] the tree of life, which bare twelve [manner of] fruits, [and] yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree [were] for the healing of the nations. – Revelation 22:2
And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine. – Ezekiel 47:12
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, [and] the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed [is] in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. – Genesis 1:11
For Isaiah had said, Let them take a lump of figs, and lay [it] for a plaister upon the boil, and he shall recover. – Isaiah 38:21
Spikenard and saffron; calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices – Song of Solomon 4:14
Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred [shekels], and of sweet cinnamon half so much, [even] two hundred and fifty [shekels], and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty [shekels] – Exodus 30:23
