I used to say that tofu didn’t have taste and would never be in my fridge… until I discover the there are so many ways to cook it! I just love love love this very simple tofu recipe. In each bite we can really taste the sweetness of the honey and the flavor of the sesame seeds. These tofu triangles are perfect to eat with any Asian side dish. ??. Below you will find the recipe:
Ingredients:
- 12 oz extra firm tofu, drained
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- Toasted sesame seeds
Instructions:
Pat dry the tofu very well with paper towels. Cut tofu into 4 rectangular slices. Cut each slice diagonally to make 8 triangles.
In a medium skillet heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the tofu to the skillet; cook about 2 minutes per side until lightly browned, turning carefully to prevent it from breaking.
Mix the soy sauce and the honey and add to the skillet. Bring to boiling; reduce heat to medium. Simmer 3 to 5 minutes or until liquid reduces to thickened consistency, spooning tofu slices with cooking liquid occasionally. Transfer to a platter, sprinkle with sesame seeds while still hot.
TOTAL: 20 MINUTES SERVES 8
